A Personal Message from Clinton...
"Compare this apprenticeship to going to college. If you go to college the best deal you can get is a scholarship where you get your tuition for free. You'll still have to pay for your accommodation and your living expenses like food, clothes and books so you're going to have to have a part-time job to pay for it all. If you don't get a scholarship, then you're going to walk out of college in debt and that debt could be anywhere from $40,000 - $80,000.
"The way I look at my four- year-apprenticeship is this; basically it's a scholarship. You get all your tuition from me for free; when you think about it just to do one of my three-day clinics costs $2,000. So you get all the information for free and you get paid to do it - you don't get paid a lot but you get paid enough to put food on your table, clothes on your back, you get free accommodation and I pick up all your expenses when you travel. At the end of your apprenticeship with me you're debt free and ready to go make some money. "You're not going to make any money from me during your apprenticeship but when you finish you are going to make a lot of money from the information that I've given you. You'll be completely debt-free and ready to start your business. I believe that your business will work because I am supporting it with my business." What the graduates say...
Shana Terry, Professional Clinician.
"The apprenticeship is about advancing your horsemanship skills, advancing your teaching skills and advancing yourself as a person. It's not about getting a person in a specific discipline.
"Even though Clinton specializes in reining and cowhorse, his Method is general horsemanship that every horse should know whether it does English, dressage, western or barrel racing. When we get in horses for training, we ask the owner what they plan to do with the horse, no matter what they tell us we put the same foundation on it. His Method is about putting a good foundation on any horse and I just wish that I had known all this when I was showing my English and jumping horses because it would of made the world of difference." |
