On Thursday, Clinton is treating the Downunder Horsemanship team to a group lunch catered by Stephenville’s best BBQ, the Hard 8. (If you’ve been in town for a clinic, you know how drool-inducing the Hard 8’s food is!) Since the start of his career as a clinician, Clinton has been adamant about surrounding himself with the most talented people he can find. “I realized early on that I didn’t have to be the smartest person to be successful, I just had to surround myself with the most talented people,” Clinton says. “I believe I have the best group of people working for me and appreciate the phenomenal job they do.”
Clinton’s secret to finding outstanding employees is Downunder Horsemanship’s focus on creating a healthy culture. In fact, when he’s looking for a new team member, Clinton not only looks for those skilled at their specific job, but only hires people who possess four core values – hard working, ambitious, personable and loyal. “Only those who have those four core values are asked to join the team. We don’t compromise on that, and it’s what makes us so successful,” Clinton explains.
