Training Spots Open for South Carolina Tour

At every Walkabout Tour, we select local horses for Clinton and our Professional Clinicians to work with. Throughout the event, the horses are used in a variety of demonstrations to show how to safely start the Method, continue to build a willing partnership with your horse, and correct dangerous, problem behavior. At each tour stop, we look for horses for the following demonstrations:

Colt Starting
Working with a horse that has never been saddled before, Clinton shares the steps he takes to ensure a safe, first start for a horse. The two-part demonstration focuses heavily on groundwork preparation and giving the horse a solid foundation.

Problem Trailer Loading
At one point in our horsemanship journey, every horseman comes across a horse that refuses to get anywhere near the trailer. Working with a horse that has a longstanding history of trailer-loading troubles, Clinton shares his step-by-step approach to building a horse’s confidence to willingly get in the trailer.

Gaining Respect and Control on the Ground
While his Professional Clinicians work with two horses that have a history of being lazy and unmotivated or reactive and spooky, Clinton explains how to begin using the Method to gain your horse’s trust and respect on the ground.

Riding With Confidence
The same two horses used in the groundwork demonstration return to the arena for a riding session. The focus is on getting the horses to tune in, relax and ride with confidence.

If you have a horse you’d like Clinton and his clinicians to work with, learn more about the opportunity on our website and fill out an application for consideration. The Walkabout Tour is coming to the T. Ed Garrison Arena and Expo Center in Clemson, South Carolina, December 21 and 22.
