Optimal Stall Dimensions and Design

That provides enough space for most horses to move around freely. Of course, larger breeds need more space. Warmbloods and draft horses typically can be stabled in stalls measuring 12-feet by 14-feet, or larger. While miniature horses and ponies thrive in smaller, 10-feet by 10-feet stalls.

Stall height is also an important safety consideration. A minimum height of 7 feet 6 inches for stall fronts and partitions prevents horses from trying to jump out and reduces the risk of injury.
