Method Ambassadors Receive Colt Starting Certification

1022_02a

At the beginning of October, we welcomed 16 horsemen to the Downunder Horsemanship Ranch to participate in our annual Colt Starting Clinic. Each year, Method Ambassadors are invited to attend the clinic to earn colt starting certification.

The 10-day clinic is an intense course taught by Professional Clinician Jeff Davis with assistance from Professional Clinician Shayla Smock and Method Ambassador Rick Badousek. Throughout the clinic, horsemen work with two horses and are critiqued on their ability to start a colt, from groundwork preparation to first saddling and first ride. The horses that come to the clinic have never been saddled or ridden before.

With the certification, Method Ambassadors are available to start horses under saddle for the public. Each time they attend the annual Colt Starting Clinic and earn certification, they receive a star with five stars being the highest accreditation offered. It’s Clinton’s way of recognizing ambassadors who are committed to excellence and continuing to refine their horsemanship skills.
