At the Kalispell, Montana Walkabout Tour, Clinton honored longtime team member Ken Thalman with a Downunder Horsemanship Lifetime Achievement Award. Ken, an avid horseman residing in Illinois, volunteered to work at his first Walkabout Tour in 2003. His work ethic and passion for the Method impressed Clinton so much that the horse trainer invited him to become a permanent fixture with the company as a road crew member. Ken’s spent the last 19 years traveling around the country helping Clinton put on tours and clinics.

Throughout the many years Ken has been associated with Downunder Horsemanship, he’s earned Clinton’s respect and become a good friend. “Ken has been a big part in Downunder Horsemanship’s success. He joined the company in the early days of my career and has been pitching in ever since,” Clinton says. “He’s a staple on tour, and whenever I’ve got an important project, he is one of the first people I call to help out because I know he’ll make sure the job gets done correctly.”

Ken is the fourth horseman to receive the special award. Previous honorees include: Rick Badousek, Harry Bunton and John Zimmerman. Clinton created the Lifetime Achievement Award to recognize individuals who have inspired him throughout his career as a clinician.
