Milestones in Clinton’s life as a clinician:
9 years of age: Supportive grandparents give Clinton his first horse, a cantankerous mare named Casey.
12 years of age: Clinton discovers polocrosse and becomes a passionate and skilled player.
13 years of age: Clinton first learns of Gordon McKinlay and participates in one of the Australian horseman’s clinics.
15 years of age: Clinton begins a two-year apprenticeship with Gordon, learning how to start colts and reeducate problem horses.
17 years of age: Clinton apprentices with legendary Australian horseman Ian Francis to learn the competitive side of the horse industry.
19 years of age: Recognition on a national stage is earned when Clinton rides his mare Mindy to a reserve finish in the 1997 Australia NRHA futurity.
19 years of age: Clinton produces his first set of instructional videos.
23 years of age: Clinton officially establishes Downunder Horsemanship in the United States.
26 years of age: The first Walkabout Tour is held in New Mexico.
26 years of age: The first episode of Downunder Horsemanship airs on RFD-TV.
28 years of age: The Method is inked in a national publication for the first time when Clinton works with the editors of Horse Illustrated to produce a series of training articles.
35 years of age: Clinton releases the Fundamentals Series – the first release in his revolutionized home study courses for horse owners.
37 years of age: Accepting a challenge posed by an Australian station owner, Clinton catches and breaks a rogue brumby stallion to ride. The training and adventures that surround the trip are filmed for a 13-part Downunder Horsemanship television series.
